Team Notes: 9/12/08

Please be in Ballentine field 1 at about 8:00 AM for our 9:00 match. Wear black shorts, black sox, and a CUFC (not HS, tournaments, other shirts) pre game shirt. Always bring both game jerseys.
 
For the 3 PM game (field 3), please be there no later than 2:15 PM (I guess we will wear the blue, blue, and whatever jersey we don't wear in the morning).

I am planning  to register the team for the CASL tournament to be held in Raleigh on November 21st - 23rd. There are a few items that we need to be aware of before we commit to this tournament.
The U16 boys play one game Friday, one game Saturday and one game Sunday. Top two teams in each group would advance to the championship match Sunday afternoon to be played no later than 2 pm. 
Play will begin on Friday at 8:00 a.m. We need to be prepared to be in Raleigh on Thursday night and stay until Sunday afternoon.  I know this is difficult with school and work schedules involved. I think we can find rides and accomodations for any boys who might leave before their parents can come up. I will have to register the team on Thursday night and am willing to take some of the boys with me. Of course, it is possible that our Friday game will be late enough to drive up on Friday.
This is a good venue for college coaches seeing the boys as well as some good competition.  According to the attachment, 363 college coaches attended the boys showcase in 2007. 
Included in the tournament cost are 18 tickets to the ACC soccer semis and finals. The boys went to see the semis last year on Friday night.  Hopefully, it will be warmer at the game this year!  
Since we did not qualify for the Disney Showcase in December, the money budgeted for that tournament can be used for this one.

Just trying to confirm the friendlies for this weekend. On Sat, we would get together to play the CUFC U17 Elite team 9:00 at MO.
 
Then, on Sunday, we go to Charleston Southern University to play against the Bridge U-16 Academy USA team at 2 PM.Posted August 18th, 2008
We will practice this week as I told you on Sunday: Tuesday at BBT field 2 6:30 - 8:45 PM and Thursday at Garners Ferry field 2 5:30 - 7:45 PM. Always bring gear for soccer and conditioning.

Our first game tomorrow is at 9:40 vs. Concorde Fire Black at Ramblewood #3.
Unless Adrian has given other directions, report to the field at 8:55 in blue shorts and blue socks.
Bring all uniform items including warm up tees.
