Congratulations to the 98 Girls Blue team for their Runner-Up finish at the Forsyth Fusion Classic in Atlanta over the weekend of 11/21 & 11/22!!! The girls began the tournament with competitive, but decisive wins of 4-0 and 3-0 on a beautiful Saturday to vault into the semi-finals of the 9-team bracket. Unfortunately, the weather caught up with them and the Sunday games were cancelled. In order to crown a champion, the semi-finals and finals went to penalty kicks. While the girls easily advanced to the Finals with a solid PK showing in the semis, the finals did not go their way losing 4-3 to the team from Atlanta.
Given the way the girls played on Saturday, it would have been interesting to see the result had they gotten a chance to settle it on the field. However, the girls played very hard and made us all very proud. While they were disappointed at not having the opportunity to play the games, they more than represented CUFC well.
Way to go girls!!!
